  OUR MISSION

In 2006, Abitibi Geophysics established a health and safety committee and a comprehensive occupational health and safety program. The main goals of the program are to reduce the risk of injuries in the field and decrease the number of work days lost.

We are well aware that our employees often work under difficult conditions, which is why our committee meets once a month to seek new solutions to problems as they arise.

The committee works especially hard to improve equipment in order to decrease injuries resulting from the transport of heavy loads on uneven surfaces.

The well-being of our employees is a constant concern to us, and we all work together to improve their occupational health and safety.

Abitibi Geophysics won the innovation prize during the last health and safety symposium. The event occured last october at Rouyn-Noranda (Quebec).

Stéphane Lacroix, mechanic, created a metal pin extractor to reduce injuries on wrists, elbows and shoulders of field workers.

Before the extractor was used, the workers used to take vise grip to take out pins.
Many problems  occured: the grip could glide easily wich it is a tough effort for the worker.

Stéphane Lacroix did the concept and made himself the tool.
