By Farnaz Ghoraishi, Abitibi Geophysics - Optical and Acoustic Televiewer data can turn a drilled borehole into a continuous, oriented record of lithology, structures and borehole conditions. This presentation explores how OTV and ATV complement core logging, fill gaps caused by core loss, validate oriented-core measurements, add structural information to historical and RC drilling, and support geotechnical applications. It also examines the processing, interpretation and 3D integration required to transform borehole images into structured geological information and identify broader structural patterns.
